Harout Khachatryan

Founder & Senior Coach

Harout Khachatryan is the heart and origin of Khachatryan Tennis Academy. A former top 20 professional in the Soviet Union, his journey as both a player and coach laid the foundation for everything KTA stands for today. His vision, passion, and lifelong dedication to the sport are the reason this academy exists.

With over four decades of coaching experience, Harout has shaped tennis at the national and international level including leading the Armenian National Davis Cup team and coaching the Soviet Union’s Junior National Team. But beyond accolades, it’s his ability to inspire, mentor, and truly see the potential in every athlete that defines his legacy.

To this day, Harout continues to guide KTA with wisdom, humility, and an unwavering belief in the power of tennis to shape not just champions, but strong, grounded individuals.

Andranik Khachatryan

Co-Founder & Head Coach

Born in Armenia and raised on the courts of Los Angeles, Andranik (“Ando”) Khachatryan fell in love with tennis at the age of 9. His early talent quickly translated into competitive success, earning top rankings in Southern California and a collegiate scholarship to San Diego State University. It was his deep connection to the game and the mentorship he received that ultimately inspired his journey into coaching.

As Director of Khachatryan Tennis Academy, Ando carries forward the legacy his father began in 1990, combining tradition with a modern, holistic approach to player development. He believes in coaching the whole athlete by nurturing discipline, resilience, and joy both on and off the court. For Ando, success is measured not only in performance but in the growth, confidence, and community each player gains along the way.

Tigran Martiroyan

 Senior Coach

A tennis veteran with over 35 years in the sport, Tigran was an All-American at the University of Kentucky and achieved an ATP career-high ranking of 361, including victories against top 100 players. His 15 years of coaching experience includes working with junior, collegiate, professional, and adult recreational players. He has a proven track record of directing high-performance junior programs and developing nationally ranked talents. Originally from Yerevan, Armenia, Tigran's journey brought him to the U.S. at 15, attending Burbank High and playing at Loyola Marymount before his time at Kentucky. Khachatryan Tennis Academy is excited to benefit from his expertise and dedication.

Nick Sologdinov

Coach

Coach Nick is an experienced tennis coach with a strong foundation in both competitive play and coaching. His tennis journey began at the age of 6, leading to extensive competition in numerous national tournaments across Russia. By the age of 18, he transitioned from pursuing a professional playing career to dedicating himself to full-time coaching. Notably, during his time as a professional player, Coach Nick served as a sparring partner for ATP-ranked players, an experience that provided him with invaluable insights into the highest levels of the sport.

Davit Ismailian

Coach

Davit is an experienced tennis coach and former collegiate player who competed at San Diego Christian College, where his team achieved a #10 national ranking in the NAIA. With over 18 years of playing experience, he brings a strong coaching background spanning 10 years in private and academy settings, including collegiate coaching at Glendale Community College. Davit further enhances his coaching with an MS in Sports and Performance Psychology, allowing him to consult with athletes across various high-performance levels, including the ATP, WTA, NCAA Division 1, and junior circuits. Notably, his expertise extends beyond the court, as he has also worked with professional MMA fighters and nationally ranked junior golfers, demonstrating his broad understanding of athlete development. As the recipient of the 2016 ITA Arthur Ashe Award, Davit is most passionate about partnering with his clients to pursue challenging goals and guiding them to realize their full athletic potential at Khachatryan Tennis Academy.

Alex Lordwalker

Coach

Alex is a dedicated Junior Development and Performance Coach with over 12 years of experience specializing in nurturing young tennis talent from beginner level to elite competition on the Tennis Europe and ITF Circuits. With a strong foundation in player development and extensive experience as a traveling coach across the UK, Europe, and the Americas, Alex brings a global perspective to junior coaching.

Passionate about the long-term development of each athlete, he takes pride in shaping not only skilled tennis players but also strong, confident individuals on and off the court. For Alex, tennis is more than a sport it's a journey.
